It just makes sense to me to upload my pictures and documents into a setting where they are more likely to be found by others researching the same lines. It is also available on FamilySearch.org which is a free site.
I love using FamilySearch and have utilized it for many different projects. However, it is important to recognize it is designed as a "collaborative" site which means ANYONE can add or change information at any time. Rather than accepting info there as gospel, it is a great place to begin research but all info is suspect until backed up with sources. Even those with the best of intentions and good skills can make errors. Nevertheless - it's a great way to get an idea about family lines and the following images illustrate.
